It's a matter of risk vs premium charged. I won't comment on whether Solo2
is safer than
street driving. That's a whole different debate and doesn't matter unless
the Ins Cos care
which apparently they don't. Ever wonder why Life Ins Cos. charge higher
premiums for
sky divers than for a CPA? If they believe you are in a higher category of
risk compared
to the general pool of insured people, you will pay more and/or not be
covered.

No you haven't. You expect the Ins Co to cover you anyway. "Accepting full
responsibility"
means "YOU PAY".

insurance
was so important to you, you should have verified coverage before you hit
the track.
If you find a Co that will insure you, specifically, for track events of
whatever type
