Well, I did some Web surfing last nite, and didn't come up with any
motorsports accident stats. Plenty of general auto accident stats, but
nothing on motorsports. I came across one site at (I think) the Center
for Public Safety (http://206.55.43.11/lrs/statstop.htm) which contained
an offer for assistance via email. I sent them a query on the subject.
We'll see what happens.
Places like the CDC, NHTSA, BTS (Bureau of Transportation Statistics)
etc. have very broad categories of statistics. Was it automotive or
not automotive? Was it at work or at home? Lots of stats by age group.
The Universities running research projects on sports injuries seem to
be concentrating on kids being hit by pitches, and kids running into
one another on a soccer field. ;=( I take that back, I did a LOT of
surfing last nite (yawn).
