Hi, My name is Mike Gigante, I am from Melbourne Australia. I have two
active racecars

1966 MG Midget. 1275 + 0.020"

at the moment (and two inactive:
1962 AH Sprite Mk IIA - next racecar. Work in Progress
1960 AH Sprite sans drivetrain. Built by Huffaker, supposedly
only used once by a driver who scared himself silly. Will probably
get a run in '98. It has Joe's trick front and rear suspension,
Tilton
brake assembly, fuel cell, 13x5 panasports, glass 1 piece bonnet
with spoiler).
I answer to either Team B.L.A.T. (Brake Late and Turn) or Roofless Racing,
depending who else is in the team at the time. Both teams are made up of
various people in the Austin Healey Sprite Drivers Club (AHSDC)
(http://www.cgl.rmit.edu.au/~mg/cars/ahsdc.html). We are sometimes known as
the Austin Healey Sprite Drinkers Club, so that gives you some idea!!
I clearly qualify for TT as I show a shameless talent for self promotion and
a decadent
love of food and wine (my shape is testament to that!).
1998 highlights will be doing a 3 day tarmac rally in the bugeye along with
13 other sprites (one of which will be driven by John Sprinzel); another run
in the 6
hour relay races (1 in Vic, one in NSW); running in the MG races and the
Marque
Sports races at the State Racing Series (about 8 rounds) ; running in the
State
Championship at Phillip Island late in the year.
I also have a bunch of other spridgets (18 in total, including parts cars)
and an MGBGT.
Like Andrew Pursey, if anyone is down in Oz, give me a call. We can arrange
a drive at a
motorkhana at least...
