The concours question and subsequent disscussion regarding wires has been
interesting because I was always under the impression that for my 1966 TR4A
they were supposed to be solid copper core and dark green made by Ripaults.

I have searched high and low for the correct colour and type. Ripaults
company are still in existance but sadly only now make black, red and blue.
They are also silicon cored which in my experience are not completely
compatable to the early Lucas cap.

Lucas stamped caps are still plentiful here in UK. I picked up one for the
equivalent of $1.50 brand new with slightly chipped paint. A quick sand
blast and spray fixed the appearance.

For those who show their car it is not too much to change to an aftermarket
the cap and wires for normal use.
