How about Same strokes for the Same TR folks. I have several restored
Triumphs but I definitely have experienced the appeal that Scott speaks about
of
driving a unrestored driver Triumph. Most of the ones I have now that are
restored were first driven around for at least a year or two in an unrestored
state
just to get the mechanicals in order. I have a 63 TR4 now that is a "Real
Triumph" totally unrestored and running strong. It is a blast to drive and the
buddy I bought it from put 4000 miles on it last year. OK it's kind of loose
feeling, loud sounding, beat up looking and yes ratty inside but you sure
aren't
bummed it you put a scratch on it. Truth is I probably won't drive it much
because I am spread way to thin but everytime I do I will be having fun in a
car
that is 40+ years old and still going strong. Last time I took it out the
brakes went the floor on the first pump, kind of gave me a little rush but they
pumped up OK afterwards. Still better take a look at them sometime.
Cheers,
Darrell
