Yes, but even a pricey bottle of DOT 5 is a lot cheaper than a PPG epoxy
urethane paintjob, yes?

  I painted my car using PPG epoxy urethane over 3 years ago. Last year I had
a problem with the rebuilt brake master cylinder and was leaking DOT4.  The
DOT4 did not attack the paint even after several days of being in contact with
it.  Epoxy urethane and the primers that are used under it are much more
expensive than enamels but the paint is tougher and more resistant to
chemicals and the elements.
