On 2 occasions on different AH cars with spin ons I had bad (not massive)
oil leaks it that area.
In both, it was leaking where the spin on adaptor attaches to the block
with those allen head bolts.
They had worked loose.
The leaking oil was visible when idling from downstairs.
It would be worth checking them for tightness when you have the filter off.
