I made a lapping tool out of a liner as well.Cut the cylinder & base off a=
nd welded a bridge piece across it with a big nut in the center to get a sp=
eed handle & socket on.Good old copper-coat to seal.Never any concerns at a=
ll w/figure-8s, just need good mating surfaces, correct liner height, and p=
roper torque.
