Charlie.

Echoing what Allen stated. The 4 synch box was only brought over in the MGB=
with remote control fitted. I've not run across a direct shifter assembly,=
although something could be fabricated with enough time and energy input.
To get a synchro first gear, I wouldn't think it was worth the effort. The =
late B box is not a good fit into the Magnette, requiring new mounts and tu=
nnel surgery.

Fitting a four synchro with overdrive makes some sense, but that requires m=
ore surgery. I cut the tunnel in my Magnette to fit a 4 synch OD, but was u=
nhappy with the amount of damage. I repaired the damage and went with a 5 s=
peed. Much happier.

Kelvin.

Subject: [Zmagnette] 4 synchro MGB trans in ZB

I picked up a '69 MGB engine with the intension fo installing it into my ZB=
Magnette. The seller threw in the 4 synchro trans also. I do have the 3.=
90 rearend so I'm satisfied with the crusing speed, for now.

My question is; has anyone put a 4 synchro trans in a ZB? It looks like th=
e MGB remote shifter will locate the shift lever too far back to be usable.=
Is there a shifter tower that will bolt on in place of the remote shifter=
?
