You've tested spark and are getting it, so doubt it's the Pertonix. You =
smell gas so you're likely getting flooding. One way to test is to take =
off the air cleaners, crank the engine and watch the jet needles for any =
gas pooling at the base of the needle. If so, your needle is stuck =
open, letting gas pour in and flooding the engine. A vacuum leak, on =
the other hand, would prevent the carbs from sucking gas into the =
engine, causing it to run too lean. Same sympton, but you wouldn't =
smell gas.
