But by the same token, the payment for a 'totaled' car is rarely enough to go
buy the same car in the same condition ... certainly not one that you personally
know the _complete_ repair history of.  Most insurance companies will try to
lowball you in either situation.

Which still makes trying to increase the odds of getting a stolen car back
before it's damaged attractive to me.
