Something isn't making sense here.  You said before that the ammeter is
showing a charge even at idle, which should cause the battery voltage to
rise.

Check the output voltage directly at the alternator, if it's 12v but the
brown/yellow to the ignition lamp is showing 15v, then you have a bad diode
in the alternator.  Since they aren't normally field replaceable, the cure
is a rebuilt alternator.

There may be a problem with the switch, but it's not causing the symptoms
you're seeing here.
