 Dennis,
I am leaning toward the "forget it you idiot, you would be ruining a
great LBC!!" theory, however there are a few places here in the Seattle
area where you can get some deals on Small block Chevy setups. I saw
a complete Engine, 6-Speed setup including electronics (Port Injection
system from a Z-28) at Fitz Wrecking in Woodinville recently.

If you feel you must, that may be the way to go.

If memory serves me, I believe I viewed a TR-4 in racing configuration with
a small block V-8 was exhibited at the All British Field Meet in
Bellevue, Washington this past July. You might try contacting the
Tyee Triumph Club in Seattle or the event organizer and see if I am correct
in this matter. They might possibly have more details. Good Luck! Sorry
I can't offer more.

Best Regards,
