James mentions changing the exhaust to headers:

I think you will have to change the carb needles and
the springs also. I have a Triumphtune header and
sport exhaust system and K&Ns on HS2 carbs. (My car is
a '73 UK model).

When the car was run without the carb work it really
was horrible - stalling out at any idle setting and
mifiring like crazy.

I can look in the TT book for details - let me know if
you need them.
