I used to have a british 1500 manifold on my spit, and I would agree with all
others that the gasket is a real problem.
Fixing it without a gasket as per Richards suggestion works pretty well. I did
however get a bit tired of the whole system and swapped it for a stainless 4-2-1
from Pheonix (TRGB). Noticeably, the casting inside the original manifold was
pretty awful... The change is certainly noticeable, more power at higher revs,
but as with anything it comes at a cost, 140 quid!
