If the UK-spec manifold is considered that much better than most
after-market headers currently available, why are so many people spending
big money on less good headers? Anywhere in the UK that breaks Spitfires
(e.g. the Spitfire Graveyard, TRGB) will have piles of these manifolds lying
around, and will happily ship them out to you I'm sure. Give them a call!!

As for the gasket problem (and I agree, the gaskets blow far too frequently)
I have an easy solution - just leave the gasket out! I did that, did the
bolts up nice and tight, and there is no noticable leak, no increase in
noise, and it has held fine like that for over a year so far (and passed two
MOTs).

Of course, you will need a UK-spec exhaust downpipe to match - mild steel
are around #70 for a complete system, but why waste money on that when
stainless is available for about #110 (off the top of my head). Not sure on
prices for the downpipe alone.
