That's the function of the Napacool or No-Rosion.....they provide the 
lubrication and anti corrosion properties ......antifreeze reduces the 
conductivity of the water.......but you are right, antifreeze also provides 
the same functions.  You need to change it every two years or so......or 
bolster it with additives to keep the anti corrosion going......
