Several years ago I was carrying a freshly painted fiberglass hood for
my racecar out of the paint shop, a gust of wind caught it and ripped it
from my hands. The edges got scratched and as I was picking it up the
paint shop owner said "oh well, now you don't have to worry about
putting the first scratch on it any more".

Subject: Dings on daily drivers
Listers,
After a new paint job last year, I acquired two dings on my otherwise
perfect body. Here's my theory . . . don't get it fixed! If I do I'll
be driving with high anxiety wondering if and when it's going to happen
again. Drive as is and I'll enjoy the road better. Anyone share this
scenario?
