But I shifted my 302 at 8500.  We figured it was good to 9500, but I just
didnt' think I could do that.  Why lower my tach redline?

Well, using the old FAA horsepower show the more you rap it, the more you
get.  Of course, in reality, if heads don't flow, if cam is too short, etc.,
etc.  Now in a Chevy, you can take that a long way, unlike a lot of the BMC
stuff that explode into pieces at anything over a heartbeat.  A man's got to
know his limitations.
