Some of my club members still chuckle over the time I showed up for a November
run, in the rain, with no top, and my passenger wrapped in a blanket under the
installed tonneau cover ! No heater installed either. Had a blast on the run,
I'm glad I went.

IMO slick leather works better for cold wind, which will go right through most
woven materials. And it doesn't roast you as bad at stoplights as the "ski"
grade stuff does. Of course you'll need to oil it after it gets wet, which is
an extra hassle but worth it to me.

I looked and looked for gloves to suit me, with enough sensitivity to tell the
ignition key from the boot key, but also insulation and wind block enough to
keep my fingers warm (and the right size to fit my fat hands). Finally found
some in a motorcycle shop, after I cut the garish logo off the back.
