1st Car

First car was a '66 VW Beetle that cost me $500 in 1975.  I had to hold
it in 2nd gear but it ran OK.  One other VW between that and my first
LBC, a '71 MGB.  I made the mistake of racing my friend in his [5-speed]
Fiat 124 Spyder so I learned how to replace an engine that summer.
After the MG, I bought the first of my three GT6's.  The second one came
shortly thereafter.  It was originally a parts car but it turned out to
be in better shape than the first one so their roles were reversed.  I
sold them both in 1979 when I moved to Texas.  I was Triumphless for 21
years until I bought the '73 GT6 last spring.
