OK Fred. I'll bite on this one.

My first car WAS a TR. Actually my first two were Triumphs, Both 1972 GT6
MkIIIs. My first was purchased in the fall of 1975. It was Burgandy with a
Tan interior. I had it for three months before it was totalled in a freak
accident. After two months of searching I found another car that needed a
transmission and some cash to free itself from a mechanics lien. This car
was Sienna with a Tan interior. I had that car for over five years through
moves from Virginia to North Carolina to Michigan to Florida and back to
North Carolina. I sold it to a father & son as a project car for the son. I
just wish I had had some place to store the car instead of having to sell
it. My main problem at the time was that I did not have any place to work on
the car to keep it up.

Now it's your turn.

Question:
So - why shouldn't I buy an MGB GT?
Answer:
Can I quote Gareth Thomas?
"The GT6 was designed in the age of pretty Italian cars by an Italian.
A cheap E-type, with similar 6 cylinder sophistication and
accessibility.
In contrast, the MGB had heavy Austin Morris styling, a live axle,
and an inefficient dated engine with all the charm of a J4 van."
