Yo,
Randall mentioned not wishing to drive "top down" during a hurricane. I
have to admit that I have not driven top-down in a hurricane. But I have
driven top-up in two different hurricanes or the "tropical storm" remnants
of hurricanes in years past.
I'll tell you what - RainX works great for this scenario.
But the best part was that because of the hurricanes, all the _wimps_ who
wouldn't take their "precious little beauties" out for a spin missed some
of the best foliage ever on one of those weekends. I wound up driving 950
miles (more or less) to and from Vermont from the Boston, MA area and
around the CT river valley... one of the best foliage weekends I ever had
in the Triumph era.
I still watch what little video that I shot one year because it was so kool.
Driving down US 5 from Springfield, VT to Windsor, VT (I guess that's
technicaly "up" being a south to north transgression) behind an MGB GT at
70 MPH (more or less) was _extremely fun_ despite being more than a little
beyond the posted speed limit. Ah, those were the days...
Don't let a little rain deter you.
As for the earthquake thing - very over-rated. We get as many earthquakes
in New England as they get in CA - ours are just a bit weaker with the
extreme norm being under 3.0 Richter.
Just enjoy the thing. If the earth opens up an swallows you while your
driving with the top down (or up, for that matter) at least you'll die with
a smile on your face. When your time's up, you time's up... there ain't no
bones about it.
So, who's up for a "Bob's foliage Tour"???
Wimps need not apply.
