My canister leaked because it wasn't on straight (happened twice) The bolt did up, proper torque, but because it was off-kilter it managed to belch about a quart of oil onto the ground :-( :-( I would suggest removing the filter, making sure that there's only ONE sealing ring on it (usually the old one gets stuck in the casting, so if one falls out, check for a second one)... replace sealing ring, if you can, and make sure the canister goes on square. -Malcolm '62 TR4, no leaks (not running) |
