Kids do notice the curious, and things beyond their experience. When I
lived in Massachusetts, I'd just pulled into a neighborhood convenience
store in my then-old, now-older VW camper. A four- or five-year-old,
walking out with his parents, pointed and said, "look at the old, old
car!" This puzzled me for a bit, until I realized he wasn't pointing at
the car, but rather at the headlights... they were round, not square.
