Ummm, TWO Fuel Filters??

Steven,
considering the filter before the fuel pump had all the muck in it, I
would leave this one in place.  This muck has been known to get stuck in
the check valves of the pump, producing a non-runner (yes, been there.) 
If you are running the newer replacement pump, it can also clog up the
(tiny) filter element inside the pump.
