Hi,
I posted a question to this list or some subset thereof a week or so ago,
the subject being "limited slip differential" options for TR6. The
feedback that I got was basically call a Triumph expert.
So, I got on the phone today with Ken Gillanders of British Frame and
Engine out in sunny California. This is a capsule summary:
Detroit Locker - not sure on availability of this one, but they are
"nasty" (my description) for street use. As the name implies, these are
locked, not "limited slip".
Salisbury L.S.D. - not manufactured for over 15 years. No spare parts are
available for these units.
Quaife - Expensive, but a nice unit.
Ken has NEVER seen a used L.S.D. unit for sale, folks that buy 'em
apparently use them. Presumably folks hang on to these gems once they get
'em, and its safe to assume that anybody that buys one of these units is
"hard core".
That is all.
Here's wishing for a Quaife under the old Xmas tree...
