Steve,
In response to - <<I am trying to determine the vacuum line connections to
the thermostatic switch that was originally installed in the upper radiator
hose on '74 TR-6's. I am
interested in '74 models wth comm # between CF12500 - CF35000.>>
We had same problem with our 74 - comm number CF 21075 U - DPO botched the
vacuum lines.
I looked in the same places you did, and everyone on the board that had a 74
only had three ports on the vacuum switch. TRF technical assistance wasn't
much assistance - they offered as how the switch ought only to have three
nipples, but also offered that they figured the vacuum "ought" to be the same
across all four.
What I did is as follows and we have had good results performance wise:
<<One vacuum line runs from both bypass valves on the carbs to the switch.
Port ??>> - "C" Through the fuel trap affixed to the front of the
thermostat housing. We also used the larger green tubing for this run.
<<Another vacuum line runs from the bottom of the front carb to the switch.
Port ??>> - "M" again through the other fuel trap affixed to the front of
the thermostat housing, this one with the smaller diameter black tubing.
<<The last vacuum line runs from the switch to the vacuum retard on the
distributor. Port ??.>> - "D" this one with the smaller diameter black
tubing also.
There are other runs, to/from EGR etc that I assume you have figured out from
various drawings.
Any comments out there ? ? ? ?

PS - What is the commission number of your car, I bet it is close to ours,
stories abound about riffling various other parts bins during production when
parts ran short etc. No telling where the four nippled vacuum switches were
supposed to be going
