Joey has a real point here. I got my license at 15 in Minnesota. Later that year
they changed the law to get the license at 16. We lived 20 miles out in the
boondocks, I had band and other stuff to do in town and having the license made
it
possible for me to do such things. Of course there were the occasional other
thing
or two that wasn't so great but it's a package deal. I wish my son could drive
at
15. He would do very well, I'm sure. Plus it would be a great help with his
little
sister. When our freinds daughter turned 16 we were all "thrilled" that she
could
now help with the schlepping about of younger sibs (ours included as they went
to
a lot of the same places.
I'm really sorry to hear so many of you can't trust your kids. I feel my son
could
have driven responsibly at 14.
I always wonder at the "kids these days" stuff I hear. After all we were there
just
a scant few years ago.
