That's only true if your distributor has the internal amplifier module. My Ford
magnetic distributor has only the pickup coil, the MSD acts as the amplifier for
it, so unless I was carrying a complete spare MSD, I'd be getting towed.
I don't carry a spare MSD *knocks on wood*, and I don't expect to be getting
towed
on account of it going down.
