I second the cut teh old seal away method. Did this a couple of weeks ago. Just 
be careful of the paintwork and the dash top when you have the knife and are 
cutting the seal away.

I also took the hardtop rear window out with the seal intact. No special tools 
needed just slowly worked it out from the inside. I suppose you could do the 
same on the windscreen if the seal is still good. You do need a lever or two (I 
just used a couple of big screwdrivers) to stop the seal jumping back and to 
propogate the popping out of the seal from the frame.

I have a couple of questions though:

1. Since the glass has a still soft sealer in it, what is the best way toget 
the old stuff off the seal without damaging the seal chemically. It is easy to 
get it off the glass.

2. What is a good new sealer to use when replacing the glass. I'm not familiar 
enough with the US brands to know what one is good or not.
