Yes, Bill. But someday, some later owner will look at that not
pretty setup and say, "What DPO did that!" Do it right and fix
the threads using some sort of thread repair kit even if you
can't afford the helicoil setup. I will loan you my helicoil
kit, for a deposit, and the cost of the coils and shipping, if
necessary.
