OK, list;

Springtime question, as my engine gets a full going-through
(new cam, sprockets, valve springs, tappets, rings, crank polish,
etc.), I am turning to other engine compartment items. The subject
here is the radiator.

I pulled the radiator a few weeks ago and took it to the local
radiator shop to get it cleaned out and pressure tested,
something I had not done in the 6 years I've owned my Six.
Radiator guy said my radiator had already been re-cored (by
the DPO) "about 10 years ago." He has now tried to clean it out
but says he cannot. The DPO used sealant gunk in it which has
clogged about 40% of its circulation! He said it was re-cored
with a four row unit (four rows of tubes)(?). He wanted to re-core
it with the same stuff but the cost is more than a new stock radiator
from TRF (which runs $225). I wonder how many rows of tubes
are in a stock TR radiator core.

Anyone help me out here? Should I (based on $) buy a new stock
radiator ($225), get this one re-cored to whatever stock is (don't
know that cost 'cause I don't know what the stock configuration is!)
or re-core to another 4 row unit (~ $300)?

Also, are most folks with '73 on using the 13 psi cap or the 7 psi cap?

TIA for your inputs,

Dave Friedlander
