Whether Ryan got the deal of the century at $1000 really doesn't matter 
here.  He had a contract to do the job at that price.  In this state (WI) it 
doesn't even matter if he got it in writing as an oral contract is just as 
enforceable as a written contract.  I suspect that is the case in most 
states.  They had an agreement and the shop needs to live up to it even if 
they lose money on the deal.  At this point they have breached the contract.
