What are you people talking about?
Four quarts of Rustoleum "Antique White" only cost about $50.
That, and the HLVP gun I picked up at BigLots for $25.
You might laugh. But I'm pleased with the results.
If I was to do it over again I probably would have gone with
Duplicolors DIY solution - with the clearcoat. I understand
that it is very forgiving,
But then I would not have achieved the proper oil alkyd, Old English White
color:)

Subject: Re: [Spridgets] Paint shop fiasco
Current quotes for paint jobs around here is around $400 per panel!
My Oldest son works as a painter in a body shop.
He's offered to do a paint job on my Minor when I'm ready.
We'll do the prep work at home, and then he'll do the painr job for the cost
of the materials - which will be at the shops'cost -- about $750.
That doesn't include the cost of using the paint booth which we'll be using
over a few weekends and which we hope to get for a discount!.
So, with labour around $50/hour (at least) $1000 would not go far enough
towards a decent job!

Now that someone else has spoken the words I dint want to voice I will chime
in. As Lester states $1000 for body work and paint is nothing. Using the
cheapest products out there, there isn't 500.00 labour left in the 1k price
quoted.
Suggested annual donation $12.75
