I went with DeWalt. They have a 'Max' series, 20V with brushless motors 
(motors should last longer). That was their 'top-of-the-line' a while 
ago, they may have something better now. Makita is good too.

They're all made in one or two factories in China, but can be spec'd 
differently. You see DeWalt on a lot of the TV car shows, which could 
mean something or could just be good marketing.
