Bill, There is a little electrical gizmo in the line with the fuel and temp guages. The voltage stabilizer regulates the voltage to 10 volts. The unit MUST be grounded to work! If it is not grounded

Yes, a malfunctioning voltage stabilizer. This hides on the back of the speedometer, and provides an ~10V steady level for the instruments, if all is well. It's an evil electro-mechanical thing I th
