There seems to be some confusion about the vent system on the TR4. There are two basic ways to move air through the heater: 1. Open the scuttle vent and close the dash vents. This draws cold air in a

The chattering noise in question is my teeth! Its been cold here in the UK for a while now (though the cold snap has eased off today), and the net result is that the heater in my TR4 is getting over

Good suggestion! My car came from California, so I'm sure you are correct. I'll change it over. Regards, Adrian asj@dsbc.icl.co.uk

Adrian: If the inlet pipe is truely cold, then it sounds like you either got a bad thermostat or the wrong thermostat. You need the proper "sleeved" thermostat to direct hot water from the top of the

Have you missed what I did on the first cold session with my TR6? It is not intuitively obvious that opening the scuttle vent (the air vent at the base of the windshield) is needed for good heat. On

Hmmm. Is this a conspiracy? The heater motor in my Mk3 Spit suddenly packed in on the very day we got our first snow in Edinburgh, causing it to pump out . . . nothing! Apparently the MkIVs and 1500

Well, maybe it's the same kind of heater my Healey had. Totally inadequate anywhere outside of a Sahara-like climate. The only use I ever found for it was supplement (ever so slightly) the radiator

Ya... However, once you get some heat in those pipes, you want to keep the heat there! It's gotten a bit chilly here in boulder a few nights, and I can say that the heater has put out enough heat, bu

Maybe it would help if you put the top up! Just Kidding! I've never been to the UK but I've heard that you guys over there never raise the tops unless its several degrees below freezing. Is this true

I've been driving the TR250 lately, since the GT6 is down with the dash out, and I tried opening the scuttle vent, since it was really cold yesterday morning, and I wasn't getting much heat. *VOILA*

??????????????????????? I assumed that the TR4-250 scuttle vents would be like the TR3 vent and similar to the MGB scuttle vent. The TR3 scuttle vent is an opening in the scuttle with a drain tray un
