- 2299 is the advertised curb weight for the 99, but is probably high for BS-trim. My 99 weighed 2330 on the corner-weighting scales that someone brought to Thunderhill a month or so ago, that was with

- It's a nice theory, but if you work out this example for a 'regulation' 45' radius corner (I just did), the Elan can cut exactly 0.2" closer to the cone than the Miata. I'd call that a "second order

- I hadn't done any 'rithmetic on this before. I just did for a 45' slalom. Assuming both cars are the same width, the Elan saves just over 1/8" in maximum lateral displacement due to its shorter wheel
