You can either buy a specialized tool from Volvo or you can take a CHEAP wrench(not sure of the size at the mo) and grind it down meaning "thinner". Probably cheaper than the specialized tool from V

We tried heat with mine...in conjunction with the gearpuller which after a while of beating on it is no more AND NOW I OWE A REPLACEMENT PULLER...never did get it off until I let my buddy have at it

You should see a small hole in the bottom side of the knob. Take a punch or something like it & push the pin inward whilst pulling the knob off the cable. As far as those little stops go...not sure

One thing you can try is to grind out a piece of the bottom of the trailing arm section of the frame. Then weld in a vertical piece on either side of the tubes. Then weld the piece that you cut out

Don't wire the J-Type box up for 2nd...it can be done...in fact it'll go into O/D in 1st gear(ask me how I know)...just don't do it. J-Type is made for 3rd & 4th only. Todd Bermudez CD198L CF25768UO
