I own a couple of BMWs that have been superb cars, very low maintenance

I often comment that one of the best things about my 1985 divorce was that
she got the BMW. We leased an 84 318, and I was less than thrilled with the
performance, and horrified by the maintenance costs. At 15000 miles the oil
change and front brake pads cost us $750.00. I was told "we expect anyone who
can afford a BMW to be able to afford the maintenance". Remember, this was
20 years ago. At 15K miles, the front rotors had to be changed, the oil
filter was something like $10 and the O ring for it was an additional $8! At
every oil change, they change the drain plug and plug gasket, separate,
expensive parts.

I love the look of the Z3 and the Z4 even more so, but I'd be scared to
death of the cost of keeping one.

I'll stick with the British Cars, the Fords, and the Chevy, where I can
still get an oil and filter change for $19.95.

_This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this
seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature
for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men,
this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it
in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy
of less happier lands,-- This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this
