My 1960 TR3A also has the slave cylinder to the rear of the bracket .
Which hole in the cross shaft lever arm are you using for the push-rod ?
Mine is in the middle hole , which gives a slight increase in TOB movement
compared to
the lower one .
There was a thread on this about three weeks ago on this list .
It might also be worth trying to reduce the end float to about .030"
