I happen to know that the guts from a TR6 rear will fit a solid axle `4. I 
have one in mine. It has to be so with the `4A. The solid axle TR4A rear may 
be different superficially (mounting points etc). However, There should be 
no reason he couldn't swap out what's inside (unless his rear axle housing 
is buggered beyond repair).
