Ian,

Check your diff mounts. A broken mount will "clunk" also.

Hi,
I currently have my differential out and at the shop for the placement of
shims to tighten up about 1/2" to 3/4" of "rotary play" (hope that's clear).
It was easy to get out with my standard exhaust system disconnected at the
manifold and off the hangers. It is pretty heavy though so don't let it
fall on you! In Canada, a replacement diff runs about $600.00 (that's
$12.95 American, Ha,Ha) but are a bit hard to come by. My mechanic suggests
a rebiuld is the way to go. My u-joints appear tight but I was experiencing
"thunk" under power so I hope this fixes the problem.

It doesn't seem to be getting any worse. But it sure is annoying.

Hardly made a dent in the oil bottle to top it off. Made no difference in
the sound.

I've already started looking. I have a stock exhuast, but it looks like it
has to be removed to get the differential out. Is that right?

Anybody out there have sources or tips for finding one? Jerry already told
me about Team Triumph.
