Earl (congrats on TR4)
regarding 'heavy clutch pedal' sounds like the 'internally swollen rubber
hydraulic hose syndrome' again.. as far as taking several pedalings to
disengage clutch.. fluid might be slipping past master 'valve' (going back
and forth between mastercylinder and its resevoir) due to the constricted
hose.
you may need new rubber (including hose) top to bottom..

>>Fellow TR folk,
I bought a TR4 yesterday ("TR Fever" rages) and the clutch pedel requires
VERY HEAVY pressure! Much more than my TR3. The PO says it "just" needs a
slave cylinder rebuild. He says he noticed the slave was a little "wet" when
he peaked under the bonnet. I'm not so sure. Once I had to pump it 2 or 3
times to get the clutch to disengage completely at a stop light. Anyone BTDT?
Have I bought a bunch of trouble along with the PO's "line"?
PS I'm in digest mode.
TIA,
Earl<<
