However, remember that the bellhousing is bell-shaped <g>, with the larger
portion towards the clutch disk. Liquefied grease thrown against the
bellhousing with any velocity is likely to run far enough to get above the
clutch disc. Plus, there are openings around the edge of the pressure
plate, which could allow a vertical drip to run down the face of the
flywheel and lay on the edge of the disc, until the next time you depress
the clutch.
