FWIW, J.C. Whitney is currently selling a 7" H4 headlamp enclosure with
provision for "daytime running lights" which I believe are similar to the
European "pilot lamps". Lead crystal lenses, on sale for $16.99 ea (2
required, bulbs not included), plus $16.99 for the "daytime running light
harness" which includes (2) 1156 bulbs for the running lights. Xenon H4 bulbs
are also on sale for $7.99 (60/55W).
If I hadn't just replaced the H4s already on the car, I'd be ordering them
myself. Daytime running lights sound like a great idea for an easily
overlooked LBC.
Disclaimer : These things are illegal in some states, including where I live.
That's why JCW says "off-road use only". I've been running illegal headlights
for almost 30 years, the police have never noticed.
