I had a Wix <Dana> spin-on oil filter part no. 51034 on the car when I
purchased it.

  Hi Steve,
A while back someone posted a site where a guy has done a gigantic study
on
oil filters, but I didn't save it because most of the top brands aren't
sold
here in Canada. The one thing I retained is that the Wix filters are far
better
than Fram. This coincides with a display I saw not too long ago at a
UAP/NAPA,
showing a cutaway Wix beside a cutaway Fram (or maybe Purolater). The Wix
has
far more filter material, a coil spring at the end instead of a flimsy
leaf,
the case was thicker metal, and there was something else that looked
better
that I can't remember right now. Anyway after these two things I became
convinced
that an extra buck or two on a filter that is clearly so much better is
cheap
insurance. So - do you still have that Wix around? If you have it, or can
find
it I'd appreciate knowing the part number.
  Thanks,
  Jim
