I have never had any problems having radial tires mounted on my
'70 TR6. Go to another dealer. You will notice a considerable
difference (for the better) in performance with the larger tires. There
will be a very slight change in speedo accuracy but not enough to be
concerned (and anyway, you're always be driving under the speed
limit anyway, right?).
