I redid my Tr6 dash some years ago. All I did was hand sand the surface to remove the cracked varnish, managing not to pierce the veneer. Then a few coats of marine high gloss varnish and it looks great. The cracks really shouldn't be through the veneer, but if they are you could sand or plane smooth and apply new veneer. There are lots of mail order places where you can get small pieces of veneer of all sorts of woods. Let me know if you'd like addresses or web sites. Good luck JohnHoward |
